Who runs RecapFlicks

RecapFlicks is an independent site run by one person, a film and TV fan who wanted a place to catch up on a story without rewatching it. There is no studio, network, or larger company behind it.

How a recap is made

  • I pick titles readers are searching for: new releases, new episodes, and endings people want explained.
  • A first draft is written with the help of AI writing tools, working from the title's official synopsis and publicly available plot information.
  • I read the draft, check names, plot events, and the ending against those sources, and cut anything that can't be verified.
  • Cast, release dates, runtimes, and ratings are pulled automatically from IMDb data rather than typed by hand, so they stay consistent.
  • Every recap shows when it was published and when it was last updated.

Use of AI writing tools

I use AI tools to help draft recaps, because a solo site couldn't otherwise cover new movies and episodes as they come out. The tools are instructed never to invent scenes, characters, or post-credit scenes, and to leave out anything that can't be confirmed. I review every recap before it goes live and I'm responsible for what is published.

AI tools can still get details wrong. If you spot a mistake, please report it and I'll fix it.

Sources & data

Title information (cast, crew, release dates, runtimes, ratings, photos, and age ratings) comes from IMDb. RecapFlicks is not affiliated with or endorsed by IMDb. Ratings shown on recap pages are IMDb user ratings, not RecapFlicks scores.

Spoilers

Recaps cover the whole story, including the ending. If you haven't watched yet, the At a Glance section at the top of each recap is spoiler-free.

Independence & advertising

RecapFlicks is paid for by advertising. Advertisers have no say in which titles are covered or what recaps say, and no recap is paid for or sponsored. Ads are served by third-party networks, as described in the Privacy Policy.
